Moncrief Cancer Institute

Located in Fort Worth, Texas, the Moncrief Cancer Institute serves a large geographical region assisting patients from 30+ surrounding counties to prevent and detect cancer. Their services include screenings for breast, cervical, colorectal, lung, and prostate cancer. Since 2008, Moncrief Cancer Institute has maintained a team of certified MammaCare Clinical Breast Examiners.

In April 2023, The MammaCare Foundation certified the 12th clinical breast examiner from Moncrief. The team of certified clinical breast examiners at Moncrief provide evidence-based breast exams and education to patients from all walks of life. These clinical breast examiners report that skilled exams have found breast tumors that were not initially reported by patients or discovered by mammography and were confirmed by biopsy to be cancer. The clinical breast exams also serve to confirm patient-reported lumps and provide an opportunity to teach breast self-awareness skills during the appointment.

Between their Fort Worth location and their state-of-the-art mobile screening clinic, Moncrief provides nearly 10,000 free screenings per year to uninsured and underinsured women throughout North and Central Texas.
